"The inspiration for Good Tails Rescue began with a deeply moving and distressing experience. As an avid dog lover with a personal Instagram account dedicated to my own beloved dog, I was shocked when a follower sent me a Facebook post featuring a Shiba Inu lying motionless inside a box on the sidewalk. The post revealed that the dog, in critical condition, had been discarded as a medical needs case. Determined to save this dog, I immediately drove out to the location, only to find that the Shiba Inu disappeared with no clues to follow. This experience left a profound impact on me, and I felt an overwhelming sense of helplessness.
Following this incident, I began receiving more urgent pleas for help: Shiba Inu's and other dogs in distress, either abandoned or surrendered to shelters with no immediate options for rescue. Each time I reached out to existing rescue organizations, I was met with responses that they were either financially strained or at full capacity. The constant uncertainty and the fear that these dogs might be euthanized due to lack of resources fueled my anxiety and frustration.
Instead of succumbing to these feelings of helplessness, I decided to take action. I realized that if I wanted to ensure immediate and effective help for these animals, I needed to take control of the situation. This led me to the decision to start Good Tails Rescue.
By creating my own organization, I could offer a dedicated and compassionate response to the urgent needs of these dogs, providing them with the care and love they deserve without delay."
